Fabrics from Bert & May
This collection of fabrics will be launched at Decorex in Syon Park, as well as at our London showroom during the London Design Festival 2016.
This exciting new fabric range showcases designs that are based on our most popular encaustic tile patterns, as well as a selection of plain fabric designs which have been inspired by our colour palette of artisanal paints. Included within the fabric range are six patterned designs and twelve co-ordinating plains.
We are proud to design and manufacture our fabrics in the UK using highly skilled crafters who finish the cloth by hand wherever possible to add to the artisanal feel. Designed and manufactured in Scotland our cloth is made from a mix of finest raw cotton and linen. The cloth is then screen printed by hand in the North of England before it is sent back to Scotland for finishing in order to achieve the signature, raw aesthetic Bert & May is renowned for.
Every length of our fabric is checked by hand prior to distribution to ensure fabric of the highest quality and the best bit.. because of the unique finishing process and blend of raw materials, our fabrics get better with age.
Tying in with our finders routes, the new fabrics will also be used to spruce up vintage pieces of furniture which are available to buy in our East London showroom and online. Sourced in Europe by our team of Finders each vintage piece is entirely bespoke and brought back to life with pops of colour or a combination of geometric patterns.
