Created in collaboration with East London design house Darkroom, our Split Shift tiles are one of our most iconic designs, and the Darkroom Black colourway is one of the most popular choices.

These tiles celebrate Darkroom’s signature use of bold, graphic forms, while the deep, inky colour was inspired by their store’s black-walled interior.

The three designs can be arranged in myriad ways to create countless patterns, allowing for a look that’s completely bespoke to wherever they’re used.

If you’re looking for inspiration, here are five very different ways our Darkroom Black Split Shift tiles could work in your space…

Soft touch

Pick out the black on the tile with a Crittall-style shower screen and black fittings and fixtures, then soften the whole lot with a baby pink door and accessories for a look that balances classic monochrome with pastel prettiness. Image: @lustliving

Centre of attention

Cladding a kitchen island in Darkroom Black Split Shift tiles creates a real wow moment in spaces that are otherwise neutral. Add warm copper and rattan accessories for texture and contrast. House: @em.gurner Image: @veerleevens.photography for @madedotcom

Make a splash

Split Shift tiles just wanna have fun, so use them to create frivolous focal points just like this striking splashback from @thesnowsheppard

Cool, calm and collected

Intersperse Split Shift with a plain tile (Brighton Stone is the shade you want) to break up the pattern over larger spaces. @sabinviehland.interiordesign

Colour pop

Add blocks of colour for a fun take on the monochrome look. Here, our Herringbone tiles in Petrol Blue are the perfect partner to the uniformity of the black and white of the Split Shift.
