Our Colour Palette

We have worked with the expert makers of our encaustic tiles to develop a curated palette of 40 timeless colours inspired by the muted tones found in our reclaimed tiles. These colours have been created using natural pigments and crushed marble to provide a chalky, faded finish, and are referenced throughout our collections.

Colour Spotlight

Sweet Yellow

Earthy and rich with ochre tones, Sweet Yellow has a classic golden hue.

Marigold

Derived from natural sienna orange pigments, Marigold has a rich and earthy baked terracotta tone.

Brighton Stone

The canvas base for the majority of our tiles, this chalky, stoney white is a Bert & May staple. The ultimate neutral, it’s derived from natural pigments and reflects the antique tiles that have inspired our entire collection.

Rolling Fog

A warm neutral that pairs with every colour in our palette perfectly, Rolling Fog is a classic. This colour is part of our Little Greene collection.

French Grey Pale

This timeless and extremely versatile shade is a great fit
for both traditional and modern schemes. This colour is part of our Little Greene collection.

French Grey

A classic neutral with a slight hint of green, Portland Stone is a warm, restful, and relaxing grey.

Milk Yellow

Milk Yellow is a creamy, warm white with subtle yellow undertones.

Mandarin

A subtle and delicate tone that contrasts and pairs well with many colours from our palette, Mandarin is an effortless and relaxed neutral.

Apricot

A warm pale terracotta pastel, Apricot is a little punchier than Mandarin but still beautifully soft.

Pearl

Pearl is a rich, rounded neutral. With touches of caramel, this understated colour works with our entire palette.

Plaster

Taking its name from the aged, plastered walls that inspired it, Plaster is a beautifully dusty, pale, washed-out pink.

Iris

Iris is dusty pink with notes of heather and purple. Iris works well when paired with earthy tones, or pair with white glazed tiles for softer scheme.

Opal

Adding warmth and softness to wherever it’s used, Opal is a greyed pink with deceptive lavender tones.

Blush

Simple and pared back, Blush is a classic pink that’s soft, gentle, and easy to live with.

Cherry Red

A versatile and contemporary shade that sits somewhere
between red and pink, Cherry Red provides instant warmth balanced with cool tones to keep the colour fresh.

Rhubarb

Vibrant, uplifting and a little wild, Rhubarb is a gorgeously rich shade that pushes our usual colour boundaries, taking naturally pigmented tones to new, vibrant heights for a look that’s big, bold, and beautiful.

Garnet

This rich, deep red is inspired by our antique tile archives. Created using dark pigments, it features hints of purple and brown and makes a powerful statement that’s still soft.

Canola Yellow

A sunny, warm yellow, Canola is bold, bright and fresh.

Bassoon

Made with natural ochre pigments, Bassoon has a deep-ochre undertone. This colour is part of our Little Greene collection.

Forest

Our Forest is a rich natural green to help you bring nature indoors. These green ties have a fresh feel that will suit both classic and contemporary interiors.

Livid

A clam and classic green-blue, Fennel is deep and serene and creates a natural, restful feel.

Aquamarine

This Aquamarine’s classic blend of blue-green uses umber to create subtlety and brings a gentle coolness and tranquillity to a room. This colour is part of our Little Greene collection.

Jade

A pale bluish-green inspired by the gemstone, Jade can be
cool and tranquil or striking and bold.

Sapphire

A moody blue-green with deep inky undertones, Sapphire balances intense colour saturation with our signature washed-out finish beautifully.

Royal Navy

A seductive blend of royal blue and classic navy, this elegant colour is often used as a charismatic alternative to dark grey or black in a neutral scheme. This colour is part of our Little Greene collection.

Lake

Inspired by freshwater lakes, this lively, saturated shade creates a soothing and relaxing feel.

Sea

A vibrant blue with deep pigments reminiscent of Mediterranean seas and skies, Sea is the perfect colour choice for spaces with a fresh, restful feel.

Azure

A vibrant blue inspired by the Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech, Azure is a confident colour choice that's unapologetically bold.

Navy

Derived from a natural blue pigment, Navy is a soft, muted and slightly faded indigo with beautiful washed-out tones inspired by our reclaimed finds.

Leather

A warm, weathered and dusky, pink-toned brown, Leather is a relaxed, laid-back shade with yellow and grey undertones.

Crimson

Crimson is the darkest colour in our pink/red palette and pairs naturally with many of our patterned designs.

Chocolate

Chocolate is deep, dark, velvety-smooth brown, with historic notes derived from our reclaimed tiles.

Purple Brown

A deep and rich brown with purple tones, Purple Brown is both dramatic and soft. This colour is part of our Little Greene collection.

Limestone

A great neutral that’s incredibly easy to live with, Limestone is the perfect grey.

Sage Grey

Grey with a hint of green, Sage Grey works well in a wide range of interiors.

Old Iron

A worn, rich dark grey reminiscent of weathered ironmongery, Old Iron is moody but soft.

Ebony

This deep, chalky black is as far as we can go with natural pigments.
