Explore a beautiful recent client project; The Rocket House in Low Newton.

A bit about the project from owner Debra:
"The Rocket House is a heritage building constructed in the 1860’s to house life saving equipment used by The Rocket Brigade. These were locally trained people who, when a ship was floundering on nearby rocks, would fire a rocket over the ship to enable a breeches buoy pulley system to be employed to save the lives of the sailors.
Whilst hundreds of Rocket Houses were built around the coast of Great Britain, very few now remain. We restored the Rocket House and its 1990s extension as sympathetically as possible, using local craftsman and traditional materials to create a contemporary interior.
As our aim was not only to to ensure the longevity of the building, but also to maintain the integrity of the space, we chose terracotta flooring from Bert and May to give us the aesthetic and the durability we wanted. As we didn’t want any visible heating apparatus it was perfect for the underfloor heating we installed throughout. We love this particular terracotta as it has a warmth and softness, perfect for a floor which needed to look contemporary to the original building. The subtle shades of pinks and creams work well with our muted colour scheme. Our craftsmen were particularly impressed with its quality and ease of handling."
