Our zellige tiles are handmade in Morocco from a special blend of clays, and have a very distinct, raw aesthetic…

…their chips, flaws and imperfections are what make them unique, and no two tiles are completely identical.. For a relaxed, layered look this works beautifully alongside other neutrals in different textures. Go raw on the floor and gloss white on the wall.

The beauty is in the imperfection.

Our zellige tiles are made in Fez, Morocco, in a small workshop of just 12 makers. This is a traditional craft that demands time, patience and an extraordinary level of skill - and there is simply no shortcut to making them properly.

Each tile begins life as a handmade biscuit, which is then cut by hand and carefully chiselled around the edges. It is this process that creates the wonderfully irregular shape and softly rough edges that give zellige its unmistakable character.

We have worked closely with our maker, José, to develop a small, beautifully considered palette of colours. Each batch has its own subtle variations in tone and finish, so we always recommend keeping tiles from the same batch together rather than mixing batches.

This is artisanal craft in its purest form - slow, imperfect and completely beautiful.
