Our House White is the canvas base for the majority of our tiles, this chalky, stoney white is a Bert & May staple.

The ultimate neutral, it’s derived from natural pigments and reflects the antique tiles that have inspired our entire collection. Our House White Skirting tiles are hand-crafted in Spain using cement, crushed marble, and natural pigments to produce a beautiful, raw finish. They’re the perfect finishing touch for any room and designed to pair perfectly with our classic Square tiles.

We are immensely proud to have grown Bert & May alongside the same family of tile makers in Córdoba, Spain. Felix and his family are fourth-generation artisans, and together we have spent years perfecting what we believe to be some of the finest encaustic tiles in the world.

Every tile is still made by hand by a skilled team of artisans. There are no machine-perfect edges or clinical finishes here. Each tile carries the subtle imprint of the person who made it - a gentle variation in colour, texture and shape that makes every installation feel completely unique.

And yes, encaustic tiles ask a little more of you. They are beautifully substantial to lay and need a simple seal to protect them. But we think that is a small price to pay for something made with such care.
