Plain Tiles
Our plain tiles allow us to showcase the naturally pigmented colours that make up our signature palette. Use these tiles to complement our patterned collections, alongside other plain coloured tiles to create a bespoke surface, or on their own for a soft and spectacular wash of colour.

Plain tiles loaded with colour and versatility
Leading the way for flexibility and natural beauty, our plain encaustic tiles are bursting with colour, shape, and simplicity. They are a series of stunning hues that exude a sense of timeless charm. From our plain white tiles to black tiles, they are crafted using traditional encaustic techniques. The result is a curated collection of 40 iconic colours inspired by the mellow tones found in our reclaimed tiles. They are truly one-of-a-kind, each full of character.
Our plain tiles are available in two finishes – chalky cement, and rich and glossy glazed. Both bring their unique qualities to spaces, with our plain cement tiles providing a soft hit of muted colour, and our glazed tiles, a deeper take on our signature shades.
The beautiful shapes of plain tiles
This collection is composed of many different tile shapes that can enhance a space's aesthetic. Some fabulous options include:
Plain hexagonal tiles: These six-sided tiles have a distinctive, honeycomb-like shape, they add visual interest to a space and look stunning laid in geometric patterns on floors and walls.
Plain herringbone tiles: These tiles are arranged in a V-shaped pattern that can add a sense of movement and flow to a space. They are often used on floors and walls to create a rare, textured look.
Plain metro tiles: Also known as subway tiles, these are long and narrow in shape, similar to the tiles found in subway stations. They are now often used to create a contemporary look in kitchens and bathrooms.
Plain square tiles: The symmetrical shape of square tiles allows them to be arranged in a variety of patterns, such as a diagonal or a checkered pattern. Use to fashion modernity and order in your home.
Plain rectangle tiles: These tiles have a sleek and elongated shape that exhibits refinement. They can be arranged in a variety of patterns such as a running bond or a stacked bond pattern to add depth to a space.
Whilst each tile shape looks lovely used alone in singular tones, combining forms, accent hues, and patterned tiles can help define different areas within a space. This can help to create a sense of separation and flow within an open-concept space, while still maintaining a cohesive overall design.

Room suitability
Plain tiles are incredibly versatile. Use them as kitchen tiles and bathroom tiles. In kitchen spaces, you can use them as wall tiles with matching patterned floors, on a kitchen island, and pretty much anywhere else you think you’d like a tiled surface.
Note, our plain cement tiles can be used as wall and floor tiles, but our glazed collections aren’t suitable for floors as they are slippery underfoot.
