Inspiration: 2021 Highlights

By Megan Scott

Dec 22, 2021

As 2021 draws to a close, we’ve been looking back over a year that’s been packed with lovely launches, creative collaborations, and incredible interior projects. In case you missed anything, or you’re seeking inspiration for 2022, here are some of our highlights...

New launches

We’re always looking for ways to expand, push design boundaries and explore new looks, and 2021 was no different…

Porcelain

Our cement tiles are undoubtedly what we’re best-known for, but one of the most common requests we’ve received over the years is for our designs to be recreated in porcelain, so that’s exactly what we did back in April. The new range has been a real hit - explore the designs here.

Marble

In May, we released our first ever collection of marble after months of development. We wanted to ensure these tiles showcased the glamour and natural beauty of marble, but with an understated Bert & May edge to provide a contemporary take on a classic look. Terrazzo

Fresh off the back of our marble launch, we added another new material to our range in July - terrazzo. This stunning stone is delicate but bold, strong but pretty, and its confetti-like patterning is striking, different, and suits a huge variety of interior styles, from the super simple to the simply outrageous. Zellige

After a brief hiatus, we are so happy to have reintroduced zellige tiles to our core collection as of December. These traditional Moroccan tiles are handmade from a specific blend of clays and have a relaxed, raw aesthetic that adds real intrigue and texture to interior schemes. Read about the best ways to use these classic tiles, and the all-new colours we’ve launched them in, here.

Pearl Classics

Pearl is our ultimate neutral, and a forever favourite with our clients, so we decided it was high time we offered some of our most popular patterned designs in this soft, beautiful colour. We’ve reimagined our Alalpardo, Vigo and Majadas tiles in the pearl palette to provide a gentle hit of pattern that’s quietly fabulous… Explore the Pearl Classics collection here.

Collaborations

Working with inspirational brands that have a similar design ethos to ours has always been a big part of what we do, and we’ve been lucky enough to collaborate with some absolutely incredible people and businesses this year…

Little Greene
Joining forces with paint and wallpaper experts Little Greene to open up a whole new world of colour to our clients has been a dream come true. Explore the range - which features eight of Little Greene’s classic colours on two of our signature tile styles - here.

Livingetc

Teaming up with Livingetc to create the Arch Collection was a wonderful experience. Together we created an architecturally inspired range of encaustic tiles showcasing striking graphic patterns in our soft, richly pigmented colours. There’s a grand elegance to these tiles thst we just can’t get enough of - learn more here.

Samantha Todhunter

We released the bright and beautiful Ric Rac Collection, created in collaboration with leading design studioSamantha Todhunter Design, just in time for Christmas, and the launch was suitably joyful. These tiles embody an aesthetic that’s worlds apart from our signature look, and it’s been incredibly exciting to finally share them with you - read the story behind the designs here.

Wow moments

From a super stylish rooftop bar in Lisbon to a chic townhouse hotel in Hvar, design-led ski chalet in Morzine, guest house in Connecticut, and new-build beach house in Cornwall, we’ve seen our tiles used in some truly outstanding spaces this year, and we can’t wait to see what’s to come in 2022… If you have a project on the horizon that you’d like to discuss, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our design team - we’d absolutely love to be on board!
